The ICF and quattro media realized the 1st Virtual ICF Canoe World Cup

The International Canoe Federation has declared its first Virtual World Cup, fully remote produced and worldwide distributed by quattro media a success after athletes from around the world took part in the online event. Thousands of viewers watched on social media channels and on the ICF’s webpage as competitors in open, masters, junior and paracanoe men’s and women’s categories raced over the 2000 metre distance.

“Our first ever online world cup provided an opportunity for athletes of all levels to take part in a global competition which we can now say was a tremendous success,” ICF President, Thomas Konietzko, said.

The finalists raced live from their bedrooms, balconies, bathrooms, kitchens and gyms on KayakPro indoor machines all over the globe.

These individual races were then linked through our virtual studio, hosted by an anchor, with commentators calling the races from Ireland to the United States, and suitable graphics applied to generate a great viewing experience.
