The Ötztaler Cycle Marathon is one of the toughest challenges of cycling in the Alps. Spanning 227 kilometers with four alpine passes and a staggering 5,500 meters of elevation gain, it has earned its reputation as a marathon of superlatives.

This year, 4,281 participants from 40 nations lined up at the start, all ready to face this immense physical and mental challenge. For amateur athletes, conquering the course and earning the finisher’s jersey is nothing short of a dream come true.

Local hero and former mountain bike world champion Daniel Federspiel thrilled the home crowd by taking the win in just under 7h. Meanwhile, Germany’s Janine Meyer delivered a record-breaking performance in the women’s race, finishing in an outstanding 7h 22min 32sec.

quattro media has played a major role in producing and distributing the Ötztaler Cycling Marathon for years, and the event’s popularity continues to soar. While registrations previously leveled out around 15,000, this year a record-breaking 25,198 requests were received, which marks a historic high.

Distribution success was achieved through a wide range of media assets, including a VNR with Unilaterals, Digital Clips, and DOOH placements, a 26-minute sports highlight show for Austrian broadcaster ORF, a 26-minute documentary for international outlets, as well as supervising the 15-hour live feed distributed to more than 40 platforms worldwide.
