We are incredibly proud to have been part of the inaugural Nedbank Gravel Burn, a seven-day, 800-km gravel stage race created by the former organizers of the Absa Cape Epic and forging a new frontier in gravel racing. Crossing South Africa’s most dramatic landscapes from Knysna’s coastal forests to the ancient plains of the Great Karoo riders tackled the route entirely solo. The inaugural edition was a true test for everyone, with heat, cold, rain, and sun all playing their part on the way to the finish at Shamwari Private Game Reserve.

This first edition delivered world-class competition, featuring Olympic champion Tom Pidcock, gravel star Alison Jackson, and the event’s first-ever winners Matt Beers and Axelle Dubeau-Prevot. It also served as a strong launchpad for awareness in the gravel bike industry and mainstream media, supported by daily 26-minute shows, two 26-minute post-event highlight specials, and daily news cuts and clips.

The collaboration between quattro media and the organizers is backed by a multi-year broadcast plan that will evolve to include live coverage and smart content distribution strategies in the future. The quattro media team supported Helium’s local production team with its expertise and three producers who helped capture interviews and storylines in one of the most remote productions it has undertaken in years, an inspiring and rewarding experience that excites us for what lies ahead.
